This Week (9/19-9/25)

  • Volunteer at Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society (9/20): Wesley will be providing free lunch and transportation to all who want to join us as we volunteer at an animal shelter here in Williamsburg tomorrow. We will be playing with dogs and cats, bringing them toys, and meeting new friends on this awesome service opportunity! Sign up here: Volunteering sign up
  • Small Group: Marcus J. Borg (9/22): Our SG leader Eira is hosting this semester’s Wesley Small Group every Monday from 5:00-6:00 PM. The focus will be on Marcus J. Borg’s Convictions: How I Learned What Matters Most, wherein Borg recounts what underscored the foundations for his faith: hope and transformation.
  • Discussing Spirituality with Rev. Dr. Art Wright (9/21): Our guest speaker is Art Wright, who is the Senior Pastor at Williamsburg Baptist Church near Chick-fil-a. What is spirituality? What does it mean to be “spiritual”? In this large group, we’ll explore spirituality as more than just what we believe or how we pray. We'll consider how a holistic approach to spirituality can help us live lives that feel more whole, connected, and alive.
  • Ryan’s Roaming Hours (9/23): Wesley’s campus minister, Ryan LaRock, will be in Sadler’s Lodge 1 from 11:30-1:30. Enjoy a chat about faith, school, and more with a complimentary coffee (or other sold drink of your choice) when you stop by! His roaming hours are now every Tuesday.
  • Worship at Wesley! (9/23): Worship will be at 6:00 PM on Tuesdays at Wesley this year! Worship services tend to last 30-45 minutes, with a sermon from Ryan, singing, scripture reading, and optional communion for all; this year will have a more discussion-based focus.
